Approved Breeder Criteria:
• Current ASCV member.
• Current and registered prefix with an ANKC body.
• Copies of eye certification under the ACES scheme to be supplied for breeding dogs/bitches to be current. ie. Within 12 months.
• Copies of eye certification under the ACES scheme (or international equivalent) to be supplied for litters produced in prior 12 months.
• Copies of Hip & Elbow dysplasia x-ray grading to be supplied, with the highest hip being no more than 50% of the breed average. Elbows to be no higher than 1:1.
Note: We recognise that the Australian Shepherd breed currently has an exceptionally low breed average and therefore individuals of outstanding merit should not be discounted in breeding programs if their hip score is marginally over the 50% rule. Breeding partners for such individuals should be significantly under the 50% rule.
• Will provide to puppy buyers the ASCV ‘Buying a Puppy Checklist’ of items that they can expect to receive with their puppy.
• All puppy buyers to be signed up under the Breeder Join up.
• Breeding stock to undergo DNA testing for CEA and MDR1 status or obtain proof of status by parentage or lineage.
• Take responsibility for the re-homing of any dogs/bitches of their breeding surrendered by its owners.
• Minimum age for dog/bitch breeding is to be adhered to as set by the ASCV.
• Microchip all puppies. |
